Oscar 2020 Nominees

The biggest and the prestigious award show of the world is back. The Academy Awards will air live Feb. 9 on ABC. These are the prominent nominations to compete for the black lady at Oscars 2020. 

Joaquin Phoenix-starrer ‘Joker’ and Quentin Tarantino directorial ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ have been nominated in the Best Picture category at Oscars 2020. Matt Damon and Christian Bale-starrer ‘Ford v Ferrari’ has also been nominated. Meanwhile, ‘Parasite’ became the first South Korean movie to be nominated for Best Picture and Best International Feature Film.  

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio is among the Best Actor nominees for ‘Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood’ at Oscars 2020. While Joaquin Phoenix has received a nomination for ‘Joker’, Adam Driver bagged a nomination for the film ‘Marriage Story’. The other nominees are Spanish actor Antonio Banderas for his performance in ‘Pain and Glory’ and Jonathan Pryce for ‘The Two Popes’.

Scarlett Johansson earned her first-ever nomination in the Best Actress category for ‘Marriage Story’. Scarlett has also been nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for ‘Jojo Rabbit’. Saoirse Ronan has received her fourth Oscar nomination for her role as ‘Jo’ in ‘Little Women’. The other nominees include Renee Zellweger (Judy), Charlize Theron (Bombshell) and Cynthia Erivo (Harriet).

This is Scarlett Johnson’s first-ever Oscar nomination after a 26-year-long Hollywood career, including her early years as a child actress. She bagged nominations in both the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories, a first in thirteen years.
