The US believes that Iran mistakenly shot down a Ukrainian plane that was carrying 176 people on board on Wednesday, officials said. “Somebody could’ve made a mistake on the other side,” US President Donald Trump said, adding the crash was not due to technical reasons. The plane crashed in Iran hours after Iran fired missiles towards US bases in Iraq.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said the crash could have been a mistake, adding he had a terrible feeling about the downed airliner but offering no evidence.

The two US officials said it is ‘high likely’ that the Iranian missile hit the bombarded Ukrainian plane. The Iranian report cited witnesses on the ground and in a passing aircraft flying at a high altitude as saying the plane was on fire while in the air.

If it comes out true, there will be huge outrage among the owl countries which could possibly lead to World War-III.

The Ukrainian International Airlines Boeing 737-800, flying to Kiev and carrying mostly Iranians and Iranian-Canadians, crashed shortly after taking off from Tehran’s Imam Khomeini airport, killing all 176 people on board.
