In Telangana, Municipal elections are going to be held on 22 January. The results of these will be announced on 25th January. At 3 pm on Tuesday, the time for the filing of the nomination ended for 120 municipalities and 9 corporations. For 3052 seats across Telangana state, 25768 nominations have been filed, out of which 432 got rejected.
Among these nominations were the nominations filed by Abdul Rahim and Morrisette Sudha Rani from the 39th ward from the TRS party. Abdul Rahim heard that he had been denied the ticket which has been given to Sudha Rani instead of him. As he had filed the nomination with a grand procession and has been denied to be given a seat by TRS, he tried to commit suicide in his own residence.
However, it was noticed by local residents, who hurried and saved him. Any sorts of official responses from his party members are yet to be known over this suicide attempt of their party member.
