The most anticipated Budget of the financial year 2020-2021 was present by the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the parliament and it was an insightful one when the whole country comes under context.
As per the Union Budget 2020-21, the government plans to spend a total of ₹30,42,230 crore on heads like defense, education, energy, health and pension among others. The government plans to spend the most on Interests, Defence, Major Subsidies and Pension at ₹7,08,203 crore, ₹3,23,053 crore, ₹2,27,794 crore and ₹2,10,682 crore, respectively.
The contents of Sitharaman’s budget speech had several similarities with those of her predecessor, Arun Jaitley. However, Sitharaman, an economist by training, used economic terms much less than her predecessor did, data shows. Words such as “digital” and “startup” were more frequently cited by Sitharaman.
